Scuba Diving
The Pearl Islands (Las Perlas) has it all. From shallows to deep water, from coral heads to rocky drop-offs, from the tiny sea wrasses to the four-hundred pounders Jew Fish (large sea bass). Underwater photography and spear fishing is a must in the waters surrounding the island of "Contadora.
The dive sites are only a few minutes away by boat from Punta Galeon beach
The sea bed has a variety of rock formations, beautiful sea coral, including orange coral, brain coral and other coral that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world.
It is possible to see butterfly fish, angel fish, sand fish, parrot fish, various eels, different types of tuna, brown sharks, reef sharks, sting rays, manta rays, lobsters, oysters and others
Dive Sites
The Channel is a rocky site, the diving depth goes from 20 to 60 feet, with formations of platforms and eaves. The marine life is abundant, schools of fish, lines, brown sharks,
The Cave has channels and passageways winding between two islands. Sharks and other marine life. Maximum depth is 30 feet.
South Coral: this site is designed for beginners, maximum depth of 8 meters with a bounty of coral life.
North Coral: this is an intermediate level site. In July the visibility is of more than 100 feet with a constant abundance of fish and other marine life.
