Pearl Islands Hotels Panama

Although there are over 90 islands in the Pearl Island Archipelago there are only a small number of hotels which give the islands a completely relaxing feel.

The number of available rooms on Contadora Island  and the Peral Islands decreased rapidly in 2009 with the sudden closure of the 250 room Contadora Resort Hotel.

During it 30 years of operation the All Inclusive Contadora Resort Hotel was home for many famous celebrities from around the world. Guests would fly in to Contadora airport or be transferred from Panama City by the resorts own luxury catamaranferry.

Indeed the ferry still lays deserted on the amazing unspoilt beach  in front of what remains of a once grand hotel – this is a tourist destination In itself.

On the Pearl Islands you will not be bumping into people on the sidewalk or struggle to find a secluded place on the beach – in fact it is quite possible to have the whole beach to yourself.

 There are a small number of quality restaurants such as Gerards, managed by the celebrated German chef, in which the tourists and residents come together in the evening to enjoy good food and wine to discuss how many fish they have caught or whales they have spotted during the day
